- Value Added Courses
- Center for Medical Imaging
Center for Medical Equipment Systems

Objective
- To describe the operating principles of a wide range of biomedical equipment.
- To assess possible hazards associated with the use and maintenance of biomedical equipment and describe measures for minimizing such risks.
- To understand the knowledge and skills required to interpret the regulatory requirements related to safety of medical devices
- To provide the underpinning knowledge required in order to safely and competently undertaking servicing activities on a range of medical equipment and to provide practical experience of direct relevance to the servicing of equipment.
Outcomes
- At the Centre for Medical Equipment and Systems, our approach to training is “learning through doing”. The training sessions will be highly interactive and based on real problems and scenarios with the medical devices.
- Three different levels of courses have been designed, related to the safety, servicing and testing of a range of biomedical equipment including: electro-cardiovascular, ventilation, anesthesia and dental.
Why we use these types of Learning Styles
Approximately 20 to 30 percent of the population remembers what is heard; 40 percent recalls well visually the things that are seen or read; many must write or use their fingers in some manipulative way to help them remember basic facts; other people cannot internalize information or skills unless they use them in real-life activities such as actually writing a letter to learn the correct format.
Auditory Learners – How and Why!
Auditory learners tend to benefit most from traditional teaching techniques. Many teachers use a lecture-style forum, presenting information by talking to their students. Regulating voice tone, inflection, and body language will help all students maintain interest and attention. Auditory learners succeed when directions are read aloud, speeches are required, or information is presented and requested verbally.
Visual Learners – How and Why!
Some students rely upon a visual learning style: "Show me and I'll understand." Visual learners benefit from diagrams, charts, pictures, films, and written directions. These students will value to-do lists, assignment logs, and written notes. Many of these techniques, however, also benefit kinesthetic learners.
Kinesthetic Learners – How and Why!
Kinesthetic learners are most successful when totally engaged with the learning activity. They acquire information fastest when participating in a science lab, presentation, trip or other active activity. Because of the high numbers of kinesthetic learners, education is shifting toward a more hands-on approach; manipulative and other "props" are incorporated into almost every school subject, from physical education to language arts. Hands-on teaching techniques are gaining recognition because they address the challenging needs of kinesthetic learners, as well as the diverse needs of auditory and visual learners.

DR.NGPIT has been nothing less than what I had hoped for. Supportive faculty, beautiful campus, quality education, real world experiences, and amazing friends. It's everything one needs from a college, and a network developed for life. The growth I have seen in myself due to NGP, is invaluable. It has taught me things far beyond bookish knowledge and helped me broaden my horizons. Not only do they conduct various technical quizzes and events, but also many nontechnical events as well, to test the all round development of the students. Students are encouraged to take initiatives and develop leadership skills, so that they can cope with the world outside the campus. The classes are very interactive and faculties ensure that every student understands what is being taught before proceeding. Throughout my 4 years of engineering at 'DR.NGPT ', I had countless opportunities to develop analytical skills, leadership and proactive thinking through various programs and events. Big thanks to all my faculty members and friends for this amazing journey at DR.NGPIT

Hi. I am V. Sahana Sree from Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. N.G.P. Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. Dr. N.G.P. Institute of Technology is one of the best colleges in Coimbatore providing excellent education for the students to make them as a skilled and efficient engineers.
Since I was very much interested to know about the technologies involved in the construction industry and to become an entrepreneur in the field of construction, I selected Civil Engineering. But then I didn't have an idea of which college to choose like I had in selecting my course. So, I was referred to this college by one of my relatives. Then, I visited the college once before joining . I was very much impressed with their infrastructure, learning environment and had all the facilities required for the students. And I decided to join in this college with the hope that it will be a right path to reach my destination.
I would say that my college days has given me many precious moments to be treasured in my life. My journey in this college wouldn't be possible without the support and encouragement of my teachers. Apart from academics, my department always takes an extra effort by providing us opportunities like software training, Industrial visits, In-plant training, mini projects, internships, etc. to develop our skills required to match the needs of industry. They also conducted many seminars, guest-lectures and conferences to gain knowledge on all the aspects and recent trends of Civil Engineering. All these made my learning experience very interesting and helped me to expose the best out of me. They also provided us with ample of job opportunities from many reputed companies like SMEC, Kef Kattera, Trikaal, CAD Technologies, etc. and I got placed as a Detailing Engineer in Trikaal Tech Enterprises Pvt Ltd.
After 4 years of college, it makes me feel that I have selected a right college and I am elated for being a part of it. I also thank for giving me an opportunity to share my views.

Enthusiastic faculty members, supportive seniors and friends, encouraging management, all together enriched my journey in this institute. The entire ambiance makes it convenient for any student to inculcate the positive spirit to stand out amongst the most talented and hard-working engineers. In addition to professional training, they also serve as a platform to exhibit talent in sports and other extra curricular activities, which helps in an overall development of a student. Learning starts with experiments. N. G. P.IT was a platform to do experiments with myself. The invigorating principal, HOD and staffs have always been there with me as my support for all experiments on my talents. ICTACT, NI and of course Tech fest was few which was a mirror to show what is with me. N. G. P.IT for me is a great place of opportunity provider if we hunt for it. A place to grow! A place to learn!
